About
Sonarpur Mondal Para Youth Organization (SMPYO)
Sonarpur Mondal Para Youth Organization (SMPYO) is a community-driven NGO dedicated to empowering rural youth and underprivileged communities in Sonarpur, West Bengal. Since beginning our mission in June 2021, we have focused on creating sustainable change through education, skill development, and compassionate social initiatives. Registered under Reg No: S0032753 (Darpan Id: WB/2025/0883511), SMPYO operates on the guiding principle of "সকলের তরে সকলে আমরা,প্রত্যেকে মোরা পরের তরে।" (All for one, and one for all).
Our Core Pillars of Service
We believe in a holistic approach to community development, focusing on five key areas:
- Women Empowerment: We lead initiatives like Project Dashbhuja and Project Uma, providing clothing and resources to hundreds of women. Through Project Dyuti, we promote menstrual health awareness and provide affordable sanitary napkins to rural women.
- Children’s Welfare: Our team supports young lives through cloth distribution, sports competitions for National Girl Child Day, and academic scholarships for talented students.
- Education & Skill Development: We bridge the digital and educational gap through the U.G. Math Help Cell, offering national webinars for undergraduate students. Project Notun Alo focuses on providing low-income families with training in spoken English, computer literacy, and the arts.
- Environmental Sustainability: Through Project Brikkhoropon, we plant fruit-bearing trees to ensure long-term sustainability, and we conduct awareness programs on Rainwater Harvesting to promote water conservation.
- Healthcare Initiatives: We organize free eye-care camps under Project Drishti, providing examinations, spectacles, and cataract surgeries. We also conduct Blood Donation Camps and Thalassemia Awareness campaigns.
